Getting pierced is only the first step. Proper aftercare is what ensures your piercing heals beautifully and lasts a lifetime. Here’s what we recommend:
Clean twice daily with a sterile saline solution. Do not use alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, or cotton balls on your new piercing — these can damage healing tissue.
Don’t touch your piercing with unwashed hands. The most common cause of piercing infections is touching the jewellery unnecessarily.
Avoid swimming in pools, rivers, or the ocean for at least 4–6 weeks after getting pierced. Bali’s ocean water, while beautiful, can introduce bacteria to a fresh piercing.
Sleep carefully — for ear piercings, consider a travel pillow with a hole in the centre to avoid putting pressure on your new piercing overnight.
